Social Distancing got you Down?
This post was originally written by Jeremy soon after the Covid pandemic put us all into isolation and put a halt to nearly every project we were working on for a couple of months. Given that we had a bunch of time on our hands we set out to do something fun and to help people have a fun activity to do with their kids at home. We started designing foldable buildings that could be printed 8.5x11 sheets of paper, colored, cut out, folded and glued together to create a little village of paper buildings. We’re not sure how many people actually downloaded the files we posted, but we had a pretty good time making them. As part of the launch of our new website we are reposting this content for anyone who is interested.
Boredom is real, and we want to help fight it!
It has been almost 7 weeks now since Utah schools were shut down and physical distancing went into full effect. With kids home full time and not being able to send them out to play with friends, it seems nearly impossible to find activities to keep them from destroying the house. We are in the same boat, so we figured we would put our architect brains to work and design something for our kids to do. Now we are sharing it with you so that kids of all ages can spend a few minutes doing something fun. They might even learn something while they are at it.
We just completed three designs for little print outs of cut-n-fold architecture building activities and we plan to come up with and release a new design every week during the pandemic to add variety to your city. The idea is that you can print out as many of these buildings as you want, decorate them, then build them into an awesome little city of paper buildings. This will keep your kids occupied for hours as they draw and color the design of the exterior after which you can cut them out and assemble some architecture awesomeness!
Visit our website to download the printable sheets and get started on your city.
Please share this on social media, by e-mail or text with as many people as possible. Help us fight boredom!
Feel free to have a look around our site and learn a little more about architecture if you want, but be sure to check back each week to get new buildings or subscribe to our mail list or follow us on Facebook to get notified when a new design is released.
